The organization identified a gap in foundational management capability among newly promoted and existing people managers. While subject matter expertise was strong, core leadership skills such as feedback delivery, performance coaching, delegation, and remote team communication were applied inconsistently.
There was no structured, scalable management development path in place.
T – Task
Design and develop the first course in a six-course Management Learning Path that:
• Establishes a consistent foundation for people managers
• Builds practical, immediately applicable skills
• Works for hybrid and remote leaders
• Can scale across departments
• Engages learners beyond static content
The course needed to be interactive, scenario-driven, and aligned to real workplace challenges.
A – Action
I led the end-to-end design and development of the course.
Instructional Strategy
• Designed a modular Rise course structured around core management competencies
• Incorporated scenario-based learning and reflection activities
• Developed assessments aligned to real manager decision-making
Multimedia Development
• Built the primary course framework in Articulate Rise
• Created animated scenario videos in Vyond to model effective and ineffective management behaviors
• Developed AI-presenter explainer segments using Synthesia for key leadership concepts
• Produced edited screen recordings and visual walkthroughs in Camtasia
AI-Enhanced Workflow
• Used ChatGPT and Claude during ideation to:
o Refine learning objectives
o Stress-test scenario realism
o Develop knowledge check variations
o Improve assessment clarity
• Iteratively refined content to ensure tone matched organizational culture
Learning Path Design
• Positioned this course as the foundation of a six-course management series
• Created alignment documentation for future modules (coaching, performance management, difficult conversations, etc.)
R – Result
• Delivered a scalable, media-rich Management Fundamentals course
• Established a standardized baseline for leadership expectations
• Created a repeatable framework for the remaining five courses in the pathway
• Demonstrated integration of AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining instructional integrity
• Increased engagement through multimedia, real-world scenarios, and applied decision-making activities
