Inside the Build

Situation
• The organization identified a gap in foundational management capability among newly promoted and existing people managers. Subject matter expertise was strong, but core leadership skills such as feedback delivery, performance coaching, delegation, and remote team communication were applied inconsistently.
• There was no structured, scalable management development path in place.

Task
• Design and develop the first course in a six-course Management Learning Path that establishes a consistent foundation for people managers, builds immediately applicable skills, works for hybrid and remote leaders, scales across departments, and engages learners beyond static content.

Action
• Designed a modular Rise course structured around core management competencies, with scenario-based learning, reflection activities, and assessments aligned to real manager decision-making.
• Built the primary framework in Articulate Rise, created animated scenario videos in Vyond, developed AI-presenter explainer segments in Synthesia, and produced screen recordings and visual walkthroughs in Camtasia.
• Used ChatGPT and Claude during ideation to refine objectives, stress-test scenario realism, develop knowledge-check variations, and improve assessment clarity.
• Positioned the course as the foundation of a six-course series and created alignment documentation for the remaining modules.

Result
• Delivered a scalable, media-rich course that established a standardized baseline for leadership expectations.
• Created a repeatable framework for the remaining five courses in the pathway.
• Demonstrated integration of AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining instructional integrity, with engagement built through multimedia, real-world scenarios, and applied decision-making.
